Judging from your signature, you have an evo 9, meaning you bought stock ngk iridiums which come properly pre-gapped... You shouldn't try anything with it or you'll probably destroy it.

Did you not read that guys reply? If you have a evo 9 then you should have iridiums. You don't gap iridiums unless you feel like buying more.

I guess they are gapped to that for a reason, but I think that is a crazy tight gap.
You are not going to see any effect likely from either setting. Maybe tighter you might burn up plugs quicker, but doubtful.

for ref I keep mine at 24. They were a little wider open at like 36 (which i think was spec/ but still seems wide IMO) and i was blowing out spark and sputtering a little.

The iridium tip is fragile and you risk breaking it off if you try to gap them.

You have an 8, he has a 9.

Think before you post. So much misinformation getting posted because of minor ignorance.

Spec is 28 to 31for an 8. Stock NGK Iridiums out of the box are gapped a tight 28.

Cmon dude. Seriously? lol
Actually there is a post on here about plugs on a 9 and I believe they said spec was 24-25 too. Im sure there cant be that much of a difference in spark due to the all mighty MIVEC.

You need to relax a little bit. My point is they were gapped like that prob for a reason, but will very likely not make the slightest bit of difference.
But what do I know. I run $1.25 plugs in my car that I gap myself.
