Haven't installed these badboys yet but I'm surprised you being in Florida with some good tuners, you're having some idle problems... GL my friend...

mine idles a lil rough... high 13's to high 15's.. i have timing at 7 degrees and idle just over 1k. nothing else in the map is changed.. i have a strong feeling it is maf based so i will be doing SD in the near future... however, right after a run when the engine is HOT it idles perfect

Mmmmm that's hard to read, I'll try and get a better image later.

Those settings are for a 2.3L stroker. Are they OK for a 2 Liter too?

...wait...wait, wait a minute here. Let me understand this correclty. You can tune the cams without utilizing cam gears? Tuning into this a little late, but reading what sounds to be just that? I am about to drop 272's in my eight. I was curious about tuning for the cams, and read the great cam thread about Silver Surfer finding the holy grail with setting the intake @ -4, and the exhaust @ -1? Is this the same thing, or being done as well as adjusting the actual cams -4/-1 degrees off of center? I will listen now.

I fixed my post with a better screen-shot that is actually readable.

My cams are straight up on stock gears.

These settings are not effected by the 2.3L, or E85; they will work for any Evo 8 on these cams.

My car would idle during warm-up with stockish settings, but die all the time once it was warm. I had JohnBradley help me with the idle settings and it fixed the idle instantly. The magic was in the idle stepper lookup table. Now it never dies, but the cams are aggressive enough that it always has a mean idle. My settings should get you there, if it doesn't you need to look at your intake as it is most likely screwing your MAF up.

I am tuning the car in a week or so.
I think that will take care of this wild and crazy cams.

The fact that I am venting to air, no balance shafts and 1000 injectors don't help either, .

took me a while to get it solid, now only have minor stalling (more like slight bogging out, then it saves itself) issues with heavy throttle modulation at very low rpm (stupid maf) idle @ 1030, timing 5-7*, idles in closed loop fine. The ISCV tables take the most time to tweak, and are the key to keeping it running. High compression 2.0L, no balance shafts, 1000cc, e85, ect....

If you leave your idle settings stock you will have issues. If you put in what I posted it will be no big deal.

I had Lucas English tune my car on the AEM and idle is perfect. But there is alot of people that don't have issues on these with the stock ECU. I would talk to Aaron at English Racing. He is JohnBradley on here.

^^^^ My settings were created with Aarons (JohnBradley) help, so they are a good start!
