You have no choice. The FP 3" intake is for the 80mm RED housing, and others with a 3" inlet.

Thanks CO_VR4 I'll check out the thread, I knew the vIII's handled them ok but wasn't sure if the IX rumors were true... Good to hear they produced a new core to hopefully fix the issue, too good a cam not to be reliable for our IX's!

Not rumors. Look at the thread on this board about the Kelfords, Cosworths, and another company whose IX cams were breaking off at the oil groove for the Mivec... They have apparently gone to another core to try and solve the problem for the IXs. The VIII (non-Mivec) cams were never a problem....
