Did you get the 6" on (model# 4560)? What intake setup are you running?

the test was not against the perin, it was never meant that way

he purchased a filter from us and he wanted to make sure it was going to yield more power.

Wow what a great write up, i think without getting to scientific here has been very good for the mayority of the community why because most can understand a simple statement like this write up you have made.

sometimes testing can get so detailed that it will be hard for others to understand

what i mean is that you have shown here how the boost increases at the different RPM ranges and is very clear that the boost was hitting sooner and higher thrue the RPM ranges logged with your gadgets, comparison from the AMSOIL filter over the Injen.

And also getting my motor oil from Andy, http://www.lubedealer.com/order/.

After the most recent motor oil order, the topic of the air filter came up.

I decided to purchase the Amsoil Air Filter, and get it installed right away.

The filter is of very hi quality, and it comes with the clamp an everything to fit the intake fitting.

I was very interested in testing it and finding out if it worked as good as my old Injen filter, so I used some good old tools I have in my car to do just that.

I found out the new Amsoil filter spools the Turbo faster at low rpms, and in the mid range, it made more peak boost. It also maintained the boost more the higher the rpms. Using the super AFC-II, the new Amsoil Filter logged 2276 Hertz at peak boost, and the Injen did 2145 Hertz.
That means that the Turbo was able to suck 130 plus more Hz and feed more air ito the engine.

So I am keeping it, and recommending it to everyone. My comparison shows it is as good or better than the Injen. Very good price, and super hi quality.

My engine is still braking in, so I did not take the rpms much higher than 6900 rpms.

Here are 3 pictures of the logs:

Low rpms

Mid rpms, and peak boost

Hi rpms

the amsoil filter is awesome and it filters better than any filter out there while offering just as much airflow. it will clear the acd but you have to tilt it up at an angle. on my ix it works fine but I'm thinking about getting the samco intake and trimming it a little for better fitment and better flow.

I have one in my Evo & Mazda 6 (the mazda has a CAI). It's a very good quality filter, moreso than the Vibrant filter I bought from Buschur (which you can see through if you hold it up to a light).

The filter just clears my ADC with the ETS intake pipe.

and if you can see thrue the element of the filtering material,,,, you can come to the coclussion that the filter is not keeping the dirt our of your turbo and your engine internals

Sorry, but what part number for an Evo IX? It also "bolts" right up to the MAF without the need of an adapter to the MAF?

Thanks,

I have to agree that this filter is of very high quality. I am actually running a little bit bigger version than most (Model# 6065) and prefer the construction of it over my previous K&N Oiled setup.

Pic of filter:
