those of you witn turbo back and no cat/testpipe
hey everybody wassup. im a new member but surf this site all the time. must say alot of cool people with lots of knowledge. i love this site. im actually about a month away puchasing my evo and have done my research and know exactly what i want. one question i know the evo runs really rich and with those of you with turbo back and test pipe do you guys throw falmes? u know what i mean like out the exhaust after running the car hard. no not a ricer question please lol no flaming on me. but yeah i just wanted to know and does the car POP loud when delerating to a low rpm? or rev limit riding? sorry if these questions are stupid
I have the RMR turbo-back but with the stock cat (not technically turbo-back, I know), but I still get pops on over-rev and when downshifting hard. I know from their exhaust it's due to the resonators. My car has been leaned out with ECU tuning otherwise it might have a fireball now and then. I drive it so I don't get to see what the exhaust is doing...

yes
my car threw a flame once that i know of
My friend almost **** himself when he saw it
Between every shift when im gunning it, the car will pop. You cant hear it inside the car but if somebody else drives it you can hear it very well.
I doubt it will throw flames with a cat though

if your planning on doing this set-up make sure you put the 3m clearcover around the exhaust tip area since it will give you a little stain around the area especially on long drives but on short trips all you need is to wipe it down. as far as fireballs hard downshifts and high rpms is the way to do it.

My BBY belched flames at a poor SE-R as I passed him on the track. He thought it was pretty cool. This was on a 3rd-4th shift and my theory is that the open filter intakes allow too much counted air to escape making the stock bov act like a vta bov. My car is leaned out a bit (11.7:1) and only spits fire sometimes.
