I just bought a 03 evo with 60000 miles. Its only pushing 10 psi. the lower intercooler piping is crushed in could that be the problem.

I had the same problem yesterday just installed my gauge and i read and found out here that it is caused by boost pills in ur stock turbo and wastegate hoses being removed i had to install a manual boost controller and turn it up

Get a boost leak test done. This may explain alot about what is going on.

+1.. if you own or have access to a compressor there is a write up on the how-to section that shows you how to make a boost leak tester for like five bucks and some change...gl

what the hell are you talking about?

19psi is stock from the factory. 1 bar(14psi) would be less than stock pressure.

And no, you are not going to gain 30hp from an MBC alone. You have to tune for it or you'll be lean.

+1

I'm chasing some serious issues because the person I bought my car from thought he could just throw a boost controller on it and turn it up. The lean condition it creates causes so many issues... fuel in the oil, melting cats, fouling spark plugs, injector problems, and the list goes on...

Firstly, how do you know you are only boosting to 10PSI? The reason I ask, is that my car pulls fine, but when I looked, the gauge said 11PSI, AAAAND there was a leak on the hose to the gauge, at the tee.

So make sure your boost is actually low first, then check for leaks.

I'm boosting to 12; got it dynoed yesterday. Running way rich also. AF ratio was at 9. No visible vacuum leaks.

It begins.
