Can anyone reach TRE for me?

I've sent him 4 unanswered emails in regards to a 2.5 5speed i bought from him after my 6spd took a crap. i paid him june 2nd and he told me on june 9th he was in cali but he'd get a guy at the shop to send it down for me. since then no answered phone calls, no emails replied to. i've already spent over 600 in rental fee's to get to work. tried keeping this off the forums for as long as i could but i need to get in touch with him and i need my transmission. if anyone can help, please let me know. thanks

I tried to order some transmission parts from him, to no avail. I have made a rule not to do business with someone that does not have a phone number listed.

Thanks Shep

TRE will be closed from June 1st through June 29th. I have a couple weddings to attend, a family reunion and a lot of driving to do. All drivetrain related work must be at the workshop no later than May 20th so that it can be done and shipped before I leave. If you need a transmission in a hurry please check on the EXCHANGE service pages of this site. Thank you.

As of January 2009 I am back in college to work on my master's degree. All transmission related correspondence will require you to email me. Please send an email, we check them frequently throughout the day. Make sure that when sending an email that you include your contact number so I can call you back.

Yeah good luck with that. I've sent him countless emails trying to get my 6spd built. I do understand that he's back in school and probably busy but that really sucks for those people who have sent their parts in already. I really want his 6 speed build but it doesn't seem like it's worth the headache.

Too bad. I was planning on sending my trans to him. He replied to me pretty quickly and answered my questions via email as well as left me a voice mail. Hope you get it worked out. Can you get your money back for the trans?

i live 4hrs away and he is very difficult to get ahold of but its him and a worker and ive been there 1st hand its like being in a foundery with loud machines and so much going on so you have to try to reach him early and by the hour cause at times he gets there around 11am and leaves around 6pm but he's a great guy and doesnt have the manpower and resources that shep does but his work to me is reputable and precise and worth the wait. Its unfortunate that you are have a difficult situation but bear with it, am sure you have to be persistent. Ill try to get a hold of him. Good luck and hope when its done you enjoy it. i do. very greatly.

I've had my 6spd built by him before. It took him 4 months to get it built and I was furious but I forgave it after it shifted so wonderful. Either way I'm tired of the 6 so I bought a 5spd that he had already built and he gave me a core discount. Paid him 40 days ago. Figured with a prebuilt trans it wouldn't be so long

Take it easy guys. It says on his website he will be gone for the entire month of June for the most part, and if you want work completed before then it had to be in his shop by May 20th.

LOL but its now mid-July! Jon has been doing this to customers for YEARS. I had an awful experience with him back in 2002 exactly like this. Tons of excuses why he never answered the phone, took over 3 months to get what he supposedly had in stock sitting on the shelf, etc.

only experience i have with TRE, customer bought a 5 speed from him (it was a 6 speed car doing the swap). the car sat in my shop for 4 months without a tranny waiting for something "off-the-shelf". it was to long a wait for me, so i only recommend shep since then. never had a problem that wasn't resolved immediately by him. longest i've ever waited was 5 weeks for a tranny rebuild, but he said he was backlogged a month when i sent it to him, so it was exactly what we expected.
