I live in Maryland and it's started in the 10s. I've had this battery for over a year now and it hasn't given me a problem. I'm not sure what temps in particular you are looking at, but my car is also kept outside and not in a garage. I hope this helps. I use this battery for my DD and it's been very reliable so far. Even went out vacation a few times for a week or so and when I got back it cranked right back up!

mini batteries suck for DD. There have no reserve power at all. If you dont start the car for a few days the battery will be dead. You also cant sit in your car and listen to the radio with the car off for more than a few mins before it dies. been there done that and mini batteries suck for DD.

i run a civic battery and it great. Much smaller than stock and it just as reliable as stock

A Civic battery, Wow!
I know that the JDM Evos get a smaller battery, but I don't know how small.

Yeah, I guess I'll stick to UICP that can take the bigger battery.
I need more reliability than all out performance, since my Evo is a commuter DD.

Thanks for the inputs!

My Evo is my DD. I have left my car not running for 7 days in the colorado winter at 0 to 10 degree and it always started. If you really like to chill in your car with it off for a while, and listen to music then go big. It wont be dead after 10 min. maybe if you have an amp hooked to it... and it wont die after 3 days.

As stated many times, there has been many ppl to have issues with mini batteries, every body that I know that had them has had an issue some time or another (not on evo's, RX7's, S2k's)......

but of course, you are also going to find ppl that have not had any issues too..... so its obvious to the OP, you are going to have to choose, there is some risk involved...

Mini battery is fine, but like mentioned above if you try listening to the radio for more then 3-5minutes the car wont be able to start afterwords.

Braille 11.5 lbs here.
It has worked with no problems at all, and the car has always been parked outside. When it's bitter cold, like below 0°, it'll turn an extra time for so, but it starts up no problems!

I daily drive my car, and I'm in NY and use to be in central PA, pretty harsh winters if you ask me. Started up every time. Even after a few days it would still start up just time. Leave it for more than a week and it would be dead. Also, bad for installing parts. If i leave the car in the on position with everything turned off it would still die after 2 hours.

So. in conclusion. For a DD it's no problem... cause you drive it everyday......... if you want it to keep it's charge for weeks at a time, relocated your battery to the trunk.

btw. i don't even have a brand name battery like Bush, brailie or AMS. I just picked up a Deka battery for $40 and put that thing in. Seems to be working better than some of the $200 batteries...

I have run an Odyssey for almost 5 years and most of the time my car sits(in the summer that is) and never once have had a problem with the battery. In the winter I have even left the interior light on overnight(by mistake of course) and in 5 degree weather I figured I would have to jump start it due to the light being on all night but it started right up. I have several friends who also run the same battery and they let their cars sit all winter(in the garage) and they have no problems either. I think the main problem with the mini battery's is the overtightening of the cables and the constant tension the + battery cable has causes it to fail early in life if not properly positioned.
BTW,I for one would never put a battery in your trunk if you ever plan on racing it. Go to any NHRA track without a cut off switch and a trunk mounted battery and the only thing you will be doing is watching racing from the stands.

whats so hard about putting a cut off switch? and i think you also need a fuse too alone with a cut off but imho putting the battery in the trunk seems like a better idea in the long run(cheaper) and also because it frees up alot of space in the engine bay and puts the weight in the back of the car...but what do i know...theres a good write up about relocating the battery and a battery relocation kit isnt that expensive.

Ive had 3 batteries in 5 years. A dynabat, a BR and a Odyssey. They are all the same! They will die out if not started in
3 days. So actually its better for a DD because it will get charged by using it daily.
