Thats a lie.

It is not possible to crankwalk a car where there is no pressure pushing on the crank when disengaging it. If bearing damage occurs through other means, its not crankwalk.

Crankwalk is for older 4g63 non-Evo where the clutch was a push type design.

You are probably overstroking the clutch.

By previous Evo versions do you mean Evo 1 - 6 or are you talking about the 4G63 in the Talon and Eclipses.?
evo 1-6, no experience with the eclipse here.

You can't crankwalk a pull type clutch car.

The Carbonetics converts to push, however there is no way it has walked.
thanks for the clarification. a push type cluth can walk though, you just mean in this case right?

so since i have a push type clutch, my motor is possibly crankwalked.

@TTP, If im over stroking the clutch, how do i fix it or how do i diagnose it.

ok I drove the car today and Its having the same problems but as I drove it a little more it will act normal with no idle or squealing problems but the squealing and stalling problem will sometimes come back intermittently.

i have an evo 9 with an excedy twin and mine does the exact same thing!!it intermittedly does stall as i push the clutch in going to a stop once in a while. the car starts right back up but its like the idle needle drops too low and the car stalls. battery and everything check out. bump for some answers!

When the clutch is engaged does it have trouble releasing? that is what the common sign of it is. It says the clutch will just stay to the floor if the crank is walking. But that is just a quick google search.

" Crankwalk is the VTEC of the DSM world. Not too many have it, but everyone says they've got it!"

I also found this quote lol and found that a mazda miata can get it frequently too.

it sounds like a disk is sticking and not disingageing, maybe overheated from slipping too much. i wouldn't say crankwalk cause if it is possible in these cars(not saying it isn't cause anything is) its very hard to do and with the design of the bearings i would think it would make alot more problems. maybe alot of knocking.

Yeah i agree with you^^^ it would probably make noise and a lot of it. I mean we have a tick that is for damn sure but not a loud knock.

I actually just remembered a 240 having this issue. The flywheel was mated to the clutch because of a bad install.

i would put the car in the air and see if it runs better with all the wheels off the ground. they will prolly spin as will. if they do and the car doesnt stall i would pull the trans and see what happened.

This exact same senerio happened to me with my Quarter Master Twin you have to adjust a part of the tune which i believe is the idle map control or something like that maybe a tunner can chime you basically have to adjust it to get it to stop stalling when the clutch is disengaged when coming to a stop there was a thread about it on here i'll try and post a link if I can find it.
