Price is a concern already so I doubt he is looking for a $1500 clutch.

#2, the singledisc is rated to 655tq holding capacity and the EXEDY twin is rated to 600tq so your advice is flawed.

Yes, the singledisc is rated to hold more performance than the EXEDY Twin.

That clutch was well worn, no way is that typical.

My clutch has over 15K (Just checked mileage) and many hard launches and drag passes NLTS. A friend of mine had the same clutch in his 350hp (dynodynamics) only difference being solid hub 6 puck, he got almost 60K miles on it. Later part of its life was on a GT35r too.

Here is a vid of me ripping it last weekend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LINC20sHa3U

This thread is amusing. I was told by several people to purchase this clutch. One of which is now bashing it. Mine locks out at high rpm in 2nd and 4th. Ive launched it a few times and its held up well to that. I wont be purchasing a ACT again. I will be getting a twin with my next trans rebuild.

Don't expect to get any kind of mileage out of one. This car has less than 14,000 and it's been through the stocker and a 6 puck.
I put in a ACT clutch at around 24k. I drive my car everyday to work school and even road trips out of state. I race my car on occassion (drag and auto x) and it still runs hard. I have 61k on my car now. I had to take out my tranny two months ago and my clutch looked almost new. The above clutch must have been abused. Also, my father ran 10.6 with clutch in an STI.

I used to run a act unsprung 6puck in my wrx. It was a good clutch as far as holding power and taking abuse (launches, hard driving). It just really sucked to drive around in traffic. I daily drove it for over a year and put about 15k miles on it plus tons of launches at the track. No complaints about the clutch.

On my evo, I just put in a hks gdmax twin disc. I like it so much better then a 6 puck. I highly recommend going with a twin disc over a puck. Its well worth the money.

Get rid of the solid disc. Its harsh on the transfercase.
