if 480 pump and 620 is all you seek go HTA2582.

the 86 is over kill unless u want to go 7-800.

really depends on an assortment of things...cams, compression, timing. etc...

on a stroker and 6262 (similar to HTA35), i see 23 around 4300.

if you want the ultimate setup...
i'd rock a 2.3L w/ the hta3582 on a twinscroll housing/manifold setup, and rev it out to 8k +/- 200rpm

700hp and wicked fast spool up would be an all around hard to beat setup, imo.

no, i wish though.

precision does not offer twin scroll housings for the 6262's (1mm larger turbine wheel than the standard 35/HTA series, so i cant just swap the housing)

edit: just noticed you're 2.3+HTA82. how you like it, and when are ya seeing full boost?

I made 600 on the stock oil pump and cooler. Not a problem for the evo.

i just got my 2.3 hta86 setup tuned. it gets 20psi around 4000rpm. and hits 30psi at 4600 i think. at 30psi it ran 10.90 on crappy tires. the hta82 only spools 200-300 psm faster than the hta86. you would never even notice the difference. but you WILL notice that extra 50hp!
get the hta86, cause if you get the 82 you will be wanting the 86 in no time. im already regreting not getting the hta88!

Yes, it uses a P -Trim wheel so there are plenty of housing options.

This is the wisest advice in this discussion. It makes no sense going to a slower spooling turbo unless the larger turbo is turned up enough to create more average power than the faster spooling turbo can deliver. Giving up several hundred rpm of usable powerband for no gain in average power is going backward.

FWIW, I get 20 psi at 4000 rpm with a 2.0L twinscroll HTA3582, which is about what one gets with a 2.3L open HTA3586. Unless the 2.3 driver turns the wick far up enough to eclipse the maximum of the faster spooling turbo (somewhere north of 600whp), his displacement advantage amounts to somewhere between zero and peanuts. Neat how that works, isn't it?

Spool also depends on the turbine housing right? Ted B, which housing are you using to see that kind of spool on a 2.0L? t3 or t4? ive been looking into these turbos as well and also debating about 2.3L.
