Evo locked up this weekend!
Well, I was cruising on some twisty roads on the way to the town, and was driving it pretty agressively through some corners as would be expected from ANY evo owner! haha, but as soon as I pulled into the lot, I downshifted from 3, to 2, to 1 and then cruised up to my buddy and asked him if my car sounded weird then all i heard was clank clank clank and then i went no where.
What did you end up doing with yours evodrivesme?

I was doing about 2 or 3 kmph, I don't usually either, its just i came to an almost stop before climbing the curb into the parking lot.
Well, pulled the axles, dropped the driveshaft from the hanger bearing and drained the whole tablespoon of fluid left in the diff. I hope others may learn something from my mistakes, or this is just a big useless waste of money on my part
I've already un-mated the tcase from the transmission, and will completely unmate them once I get my slide hammer back to take out the output shaft.
Now, to drop the tcase from the car, I need to pull the driveshaft from the output end of the case (yes or no? does it just simply pull out like most cars?)
Is it possible to swivel the tcase enough to get it out through the gap between the engine and subframe, or will I be dropping that subframe to get it out? On second thought I may just do it anyways just to free up all that room to work..
open to suggestions on this!

damn that sucks man. I did my clutch job just a week ago and made sure I did everything good as far as fluid goes. mitsu fluid in tcase/rear diff and amsoil in tranny. Im almost positive you have to remove the sub frame to get the tcase out and even then its a ***** to get out.... I dont have no acd though, so im sure things are a bit diff.
edit: btw lay your wheels down under your car beside the jack stands, its extra reassurance incase something
wierd would occur it wont smash you then.

Thanks for the tips tcomp, I have a couple massive blocks of wood i put under there to keep everything safe. I will loosen the subframe off and see how much movement I get in the steer rack lines and see if I can just lower the sub instead of dropping it completely.
Bambooi, ya that's what I did, I drained it and figured the acd fluid was for the diff as well, and didn't have a second thought on the subject. the headlights are like 3 extra bolts, and it keeps me from accidentally damaging them. while leaning into the engine etc.

I would look for a tutorial, since I dont have ACD I dont know .. but I do remember reading something where you have to actually do something with the ECU to bleed the acd or something before you fill it?

The acd, just top up the resevoir, turn key to on, hold the gas pedal to the floor, you will hear the pump whir and it the fluid level will drop. do that a couple times, and then open the bleeder on the bottom of the tcase, then do it again a couple times to purge all the air from the diff.
I will be dropping the subframe tomorrow morning, thanks guys.
