At idle should exhaust gases come out of the wastegate/ dump part of the 02 dump?

It's a metal against metal seal that's not exact, so you may get some leakage but not enough to worry about.

Well I know the dump isn't completely closed off from the other side. so some should come out right... I think I just answered my Question BTW!

you shouldn't have anything coming out of the dump tube at idle. if you used the stock gasket then that is probably your issue. i never had any come out of mine at idle, only under hard boost. could be a wastegate issue also...

Thanks for the useless unrelated comment

To the OP:

With my dump I can feel some exhaust gasses escaping. I did use the OEM gasket however so I pretty much knew some was going to get out. I dont believe its an issue however I would love for others to shed some light on this subject.

I put the stock gasket on when I first installed mine and I had some exhaust gases coming out of the dump tube...I took everything off and reinstalling only using the spray on copper gasket...no leaks and its been on there for almost a year...I really enjoy my 02 dump...quiet while normal driving and sounds great at WOT and good power increase...You also may need to tighten you wastegate too because my flapper was open a little bit after installed everything...
