Rattling excedy twin plate
Rattling excedy twin plate
My cars motor bay is full of noises, is sounds like an old motor . At first I thought it was my brand new 2.3L motor but it is only very noisy ( rattles ) at idle. Once going the whole thing sounds normal and the motor is a beauty, very very fast . Also, when I engage the clutch I can hear a rattling sound, my guess is that it is the two plates letting go and they must be rattling freely in there. The thing is that my friends evo with the exact same clutch will not rattle at all. Any ideas?
well if you have an exedy twin disc and it's rattling, that is perfectly normal. I have an exedy twin plate and it rattles like a normal twin disc. I'd be more worried about your friend's twin disc if it's not rattling at all.
my rattles at idle and has a mind of its own. Sometimes it just stops and randomly will give a little rattle everyonce in a while slowing down. I just laugh because everyone thinks my car is broken between that and brakes squeaking lol
But does it rattle at idle with the peddal out or only when engaged? Mine rattles a lot with the clutch engaged and it still makes noise lets say in neutral without even touching the pedal. Is this possible?

So then I guess I should just think all those noises are related to the clutch and that those clutches just have a mind of their own, they can rattle randomly both engaged or disengaged. It is good to know they act like that, now I won't have to search for the cause of all that rattle in the engine compartment.

I haven't heard another one that bad, but they do rattle.
