Clutch recommendations
Alright guys i know there are alot of threads on clutches but im lookin to spend less than 600 on a clutch and i was lookin at clutches and the Competition Clutch is like 370... my question is, is competion clutch a good company to go with?? my car is bone stock but i do wanna do the TBE, intake and maybe ic pipings pretty soon. If competition clutch is bad what do u guys recommend... i want a stage 2
Me as well. This has to be the hardest decision I've had to make with this car yet. Whatever I read though, everyone says save up and buy an Exedy Twin Disc. A clutch is not something I want to skimp on so I'm going this route.

I am currently putting in a stage 3 plus clutch masters with an aluminum flywheel. 1g plus install price. Thats for the clutch and aluminum flywheel. I have a 400whp goal but its my dd and i play about once a month with it. Should be a great clutch with close to stock drivabilty.
Yeah, everyone knows this. But why spend so much on a clutch when all you need is one that will support 400ish HP, it would be nice to have top of the line parts for everything but that is why there are different stages of clutches. We all don't drive around with AMS built motors with 35r turbine, boosting 40 psi, most are daily drivers. Mine is a DD and I will never have more than 350hp, so I will never have a twin disc clutch, OVERKILL and a waste of money. But, to each his own.
I have a HDSS with the prolite flywheel at this time and I like it but would have preferred to have gone with the XTSS from ACT(love the prolite flywheel). The HP doesn't affect your clutch choice as much as TQ does so just keep that in mind.
Best bet is our ACT HDTTP unit. Most recent review is here:
