2005 EVO 8 problems

Hey everyone. I'm in possession right now of an '05 Evo that has........issues.

Driving it the other day and had it throw a check engine light AND all three ACD lights came on. Is there any way to pull the codes on these cars without a scan tool? Kind of like how on the old Nissans you could cycle the ignition key on and off three times and the light would flash the code at you...or how you could pull one of the rear panels in old hondas and find a light flashing a code....I would rather find out what the code is without having to pay 80 bucks to a dealer.

Also, tried a hole shot the other day and noticed that when I got up to about 3-4k RPM the car felt like it fell on its' face. What I'M thinking is that one of the hoses going to/from the intercooler may be loose and causing the boost to drop off whenever more pressure passes through. I noticed the same problem when cruising in 5th gear on the freeway and trying to accelerate hard. Sound good? Or should I start else where?

I'll worry about the ACD thing later.

Sorry if some of these are common questions...but I am not an EVO guy. This isn't even my car.... I drive an '86 Buick T-type and the set up is a bit more....spread out. Though I wouldn't mind racing an EVO in my Buick some day!!

Do they normally have the plugs for these cars?

K. I'll have to swing it by there tomorrow then. Jeez I do not want to drive that thing......these are just the CURRENT issues of this particular salvage titled car.

Any thoughts on the performance issue?

Boost leak check would be a good start. How many miles on it?

Here's a little info. Maybe someone can find some step by step instructions on this.

Hmm.....I keep getting a page load error when trying that link. I will do a search for the subject and find out what comes up. Thanks!
