I bought my car brand new in 05. Drove it stock for about 3500 miles then upgraded with all the bolt ons. Was making 330whp/330wtq and the stock clutch was toast. That was with only two track days at Road America, and a few trips to the drag strip. At about 4000 miles i had to make a move. I went with an exedy stage one single disk due to not having the funds to purchase a twin disk. I have read many poor reviews on this clutch since buying it but i loved it! Good pedal feel, it seemed to slip just right when launching, and all at a decent price! Then the 50 trim turbo kit came (390whp/340wtq) and one weekend at Road America and that clutch was toast. At 12,000 miles i ordered my 3rd clutch. Went with an exedy twin standard duty. Im at 22k miles and its still holding strong. long story short? Go with a twin disk and save in the long run!

72,000 miles on the stocker. Most of its life it took 315whp/tq +/-. Autocrossed about 8 events. Launches here an there. I'm not sure how the previous owner treated it the first 20,000 miles before I bought it, but I'm pretty satisfied on how long it lasted.

Only reason I replaced it, is it started slipping at autox events. I'm sure I could have got a lot more highway/city miles on it if I would have left it in.

Not trying to thread-jack, but is there anyone else that has that many miles on thei Evo, or anyone who has MORE? Thats a lot for sure!

I purchased my car all ready with a lot of modifications. It came with a heavy duty organic clutch.

2 launches and 4 weeks later it is now slipping like a ****...

Thanks it looks like 50k+ is not abnormal for a driven car w/ less than 350hp. I'm not so bent now at 47k, going to talk the wife into the exedy twin. Thanks all

Bringing this thread back from the dead ... I currently have 148,000 miles on my stock clutch ... wondering if anybody has more than that?

Funny thing is .... most of my driving is in town, and I do a couple track days per year (although close to stock power levels). Still holds like it did the day I bought it!

Lately I've received a few compliments about the car, and people look at me like I'm from another planet when I tell them it's got almost 150K and on the original clutch.

Still love the Evo after 12 years! Best car I've ever owned!

Grandpa Evo went way more than that driving a long commute.
