BG Syncro Shift II Vs. Amsoil MGT

My MR six speed is grinding going into third. The syncro is going out and I am trying to pro-long the tranny till next spring. Buschur and a few other sites say that BG's Syncro Shift is the best for the tranny. I'm looking for someone who has ran both the BG and the MGT, and can tell me if you have noticed the difference??? I know there are some Amsoil dealers that will post saying to go with Amsoil but I need to know if it is truly better. Becasue I am already a dealer for amsoil myself!!! And with any company, they are going to say that their products are the best. But no one company has the best products in every category.

Initially the fill on the Amsoil was slightly more notchy than BG. After a few weeks of driving the car the notchyness decreased and I think the car shifts better than ever. Both oils were in the transmission now for months.

Both are some of the best money can buy. I'd go AMSOIL though

BG has been known not too work well in the 6sp...there are a fair amount of people who overheated the 6sp rather quickly with BG fluids in it. Maybe just a coincidence but not many people running MTG have overheated the 6sp enough to drop 4th gear (that I know of atleast). BG was considered good back in DSM days but not quite up to par to say what Amoil or Motul would be considered...

Changing fluid is only going to be a temporary fix... I would just get it taken care of before it gets really bad and damages other parts. The factory fluid is actually very good, I would just stick with that.

Cheers!
