Tilton twin disk
Tilton twin disk
Hey I was wondering if anyone knew what the max power I could run through a tilton twin cerametallic twin clutch? My setup consists of a 6262 on a stock motor which wouldnt be tuned past 500whp for stock block reasons so I know the clutch will be fine for now but once im built I want to max the turbo ot 40psi/e85. Im shooting low 700's high 600's in power but im pretty sure the torque wont go past 600lb-fts. Will I be alright with this clutch? I do drag my car but not all the time its mostly street and highway pulls. Thanks
yes it will hold up just fine. if you havent already got that clutch you might want to consider getting a quartermaster twin. about the same drivability but imo the QM shifts better.
Well I do and dont. I have a exedy twin hd that needs a rebuild but im 99% sure it wont be upto the task of this setup so I might just sell it. Hmm the QM seems like a very good clutch compared to the tilton for less money so thats a winner in my book lol. The only thing is that the QM is 5spd or 6spd. I have the 6spd but I will be switching to a 5spd once I blow up the 6spd or if the 6spd lasts me until the build I will be swapping the trans then (late winter, early spring). If I buy the one for the 6spd do you know if I can change something (spline maybe, I dk) to make it compatible with the 5spd afterwards? Thanks

Asked the guys at MAPerformance about the 6spd to 5spd thing and they said I would have to buy the 5spd rebuild kit to use it on the 5spd tranny. What im going to probably do is use the 6spd till it just gives out even if it lasts past the engine build to get the most use out of it and the most use out of clutch itself. Then do the built 5spd and rebuild the clutch to the 5spd version at the same time. Just cant drive the 6spd like a maniac in the meantime lol.
