here's a thought. if you HAPPEN to have a dynoflash, doesnt he keep all the original flashes? He could flash your new ECU with your old program. IF the key encryptioin is contained in the flash that is. Or you could pay him to copy one flash to another ECU. I'm sure he'll take your money.

Unfortunately flashes don't really work that way.. The portion of the ECU that uniquely identifies it does not appear to be contained within the flash.

also, I've been told that flashing is one way.. The extracted "base stock" flash is not downloaded from your ECU but supplied by the flash programmer manufacturer..

I'm not aware of any abiliy to download flashes off a japanese car (or many other cars), however I do know many fords and Chevy's ECU's ARE Capable of it...

I think that is what makes reflashing systems so expensive. for our cars.
