Noise coming from BR double pumper???

Yesterday I heard a whining type of noise coming from the double pumper, its a constant noise at idle and I've never noticed it before. does anyone know if this is a normal sound of somthing going bad with it? also I've had the system for 3 weeks, thanks!

walbro's are known to whine.. but if you just now noticed it, then i would further investigate the pumps. if one of the pumps is failing, it will be sure to effect your a/f , logs, etc.. if you're not knocking and your afr hasnt changed then I wouldn't worry.

nah.. but you should never run your car down to the last drop of gas, because you will start to suck up nasty stuff from the gas tank that the filter doesn't pick up.

if the AFR hasn't changed then just ignore the whine. keep a good eye on your wideband for a week or so just to be safe. Walbro's are very very loud when they see full voltage operation. On evos they're not so loud idling, because we have a relay that is just for idle and just for WOT.

That's true. The electric pump is cooled by the gas around it. A mechanic friend of mine told me that 90% of the pumps he sees fail happen in the hot part of the summer, with people letting their gas get very low and the pump gets too hot and fails...

Thanks for the replies! I really hope it's not going bad already, not even a month old! How would I go about checking it to make sure it's working properly? Other than the wb gauge
