Induction: Custom Aluminium Apexi Style Airbox, Apexi Podfilter Kit, Trust M-Spec Intercooler, Trust T67 Turbo Kit.

Injection/Fueling: Walbro 255l/hr Intank Fuel Pump, FIC 1050cc Injectors.

Ignition: SUN Auto Hot-Earth Kit, SUN Auto Voltage Stabiliser Kit, NGK Ignition Leads.

Engine Management: Haltech PnP Platnum Sport 2000 ECU, HKS EVC 6 LTD ED (Amber)

Exhaust: Trust Dump Pipe & Front Pipe, Custom 3.5" MIL.SPEC Metallic Cat Converter, Custom 3" Stainless Steel Catback Exhaust System.

Driveline
Gearbox: Standard 6-speed manual.

The 6 speed will a limitation eventually, you'll probably want the 5spd at some point. I'd go a different route with the ignition, Like a COP system. Sparktech, Spoolinuptuning, etc.

The motor plan looks good, I'd probly go a different turbo also if you've got the money. FP Red, 6262, HTA35R, something like that.

Agreed on the comments regarding ignition and turbo.

Forget the ignition trinkets - apply the money toward a COP setup.

Get a better turbo - one that delivers performance representative of 2009, not 2004.

Start saving for a built 5-speed tranny and strengthened T-case.

if you need to keep that jdm bling, go with the trust kit. if you prefer a performance over brand, get something besides a trust kit. FP FTW.

+1 for getting rid of the pos 6speed!

I don't agree with your turbo choices. He said he will be autoxing/time attack... You want a turbo that spools quickly and produces a strong power band (neither of your choices: Red, 6262, or HTA35R wouldn't spool quickly and the OP wouldn't be happy with that). I would recommend going with one of the following mild-wild: Stock IX ported turbo, FP White, BBK Lite, BBK Full, HTA3076, or HTA Green.

Personally with the built 2.3L I would go HTA Green with high compression. That turbo should then spool like a stock IX but capable of 500hp/500tq.

^ thanks for all your input guys.

All the items that are on the list, I already have, bar the clutch, still gotta buy that!

Just a few things;

-The turbo. Yes there are alot better choices out there. But we seem to be getting good results with this turbo, and I also got it for a price I could not refuse..
-With the ignition, Im currently saving for a CDI COP ignition system.
-Yes, I do have the garbage 6-speed. Im just going to have to look after it for now, as I dont have enough for the Evo 9 RS 5-speed with Ralliart Front LSD that I want..

The aim for it is to have the 5-speed + CDI setup and if money permits, a twin scroll turbo of some description, but I have ALOT more important things to get before I look at the transmission and turbo.

I'm going to have to ask, whats more important to a build than Tranny and Turbo? Its the heart of your powertrain if you ask me.

Also what Tire/Wheel Size combo are you running for Time Attack?

Silly gripes aside. Sick build. Do it how you want it!

And don't forget some pics and a dyno sheet for the followup!

nice build! ill trade you my 5-speed for your 6-speed. I would go with a better spooling turbo also especially for auto-x. You can still run something kind of big since the stroker will help the spool big time. I might even stay with a green though to reach massive tq numbers. how much power does it put out at the moment?

^ At the moment Im running a 20G on the stock motor with the cams, exhaust, intercooler + intake.

Its pulling 220kW (300hp) on a low reading dyno here in Sydney.

As I said before, I would LOVE to get a twinscroll something, but I just cant afford it at the moment. I'd prefer to keep the T67 and put the money towards an AP Racing Brake Kit or something..

Thanks all! Will try to keep everyone updated.

Hey guys.

Im trying to decide on a twin plate clutch.

My engine builder wants to use an ORC clutch. I would like to use an exedy, main reason being money... I save about 600 using the exedy.

What do you guys think?

Any good clutches out there for a good price?
