hei guys,

can ya help list out what could be the prob please.
yes i am using VTA BOV. but isnt it too long duration of of trailing smoke after lift off?
i know the MAF reading becomes inaccurate when air is vent out but i've seen other evos using HKS SSQV VTA but with no prob.
what other faults u might think. i prob will test it 1 by 1.

1) VTA BOV
2) leaky injectors?
3) inaccurate TPS

thanks

Which injectors are you running? It has to be a fuel related problem
due to the black appearing smoke. Have you checked and or replaced
the sparkplugs recently? Also excessive carbon deposits in the combustion
chamber and or on the plugs can cause this condition as well.

I'm not going to say that this is absolutely the problem but I would check your fuel maps...There are a few people on here that like to ridiculously richen up the maps to kick a few flames when shifting

It's obvious that you're dumping fuel so check your maps before you fumble with the injectors.

+1 on the plugs being dirty. How long since your last plug change? Im not saying rule out the fuel, that could very well be it also, but I would check the condition of the plugs and see how much buildup you have in the cylinders...

hei guys,
i just replaced the plugs bout 3 months ago. n even with new plugs it was still the same. coud a leaky oil return seal at the turbo cause this prob? i read somewhere it can cause black smoke when decelerating.
