Compressor Wheel is White and Pinkish???

I just got a 20g from a freind, it had the o2 housing on it. I took the o2 housing off and the compressor wheel is white an has a sorta pinkish tint on some spots. Ive never seen this before the only thing i can think of is that the car was ran very lean? Theres no shaft play so i still plan on using it but WTF is wheel bad?

In my experience white/gray is from running race gas. Red is from octane additives that come with some weird fuels... 114L Trick deposits red/orange
