20G-5 vs. 20G-6 wheels and compressor surge

The 20G-6 compressor wheel has been proven to surge in a stock Evo8 compressor housing at pump gas boost levels at WOT, but the 20G-5 (i.e., the FP White Rabbit) compressor wheel does not.

What does that indicate about the comparison between these two wheels?

Sorry to bring back an old thread. What you said is not true. When I first got my 20G9-5 I noticed 5th gear surge the first time I drove it. If you are around 2500 rpms and go WOT it would surge for a second until the RPMs came up.

It does not seem to do that anymore, but I still get alot of part-throttle surging. Say you are accellerating to pass someone at part throttle - once it gets to a certain boost level (mid-teens) it starts surging/stuttering. Many hours have been spent trying to find a solution to this, to no avail. One person's comment - "It surges less than a GT35R - live with it . . . "

FYI, a 20G-5 is not a WR.

The compressor cover is different, the comp wheel is similar, if not the same.

Interesting. Good news.

What BOV, boost controller and cams do you have? Thanks!
