I am completely stuck. I can't get the trans back in. 1st attempt and popped the wedge collar. Now I am trying to take the shifter out of the trans but can't get it to release. I can't get the right angle to put it back in. Close to throwing in the towel.
Can't get it to clear inner fender well..

Tough to angle the tranny back in there, I saw mine and opted to have the shop do it, too tight for my tastes. I have swapped a manual into an automatic honda before and after doing that beast of a swap i said no thank you sir. How far is Glenside away from Pittsburgh? There are a lot of good guys around who i'm sure would lend a hand and have done this install themselves who would work for beer and good conversation...

6 spd is more of a pain than the 5. i always take those brackets on the 6spd loose pull then up and turn them for the to clear the frame rail..

Can you lower the engine any further to give you a more favorable angle of attack? That should lower whatever is hitting below the fender. You might have to do that and then once past the inner fender lift the engine and trans at the same time.

yah I tried that. Seems easier when the engine is higher believe it or not. Gives me more room to work. Just need some more hands i guess.

Drop your subframe/steering rack. It shouldn't take much now that your that far and you'll have a bunch more room.
