The fourth quarter of 2010 is the end-date the entire industry is waiting for. At this time, oil marketers, who have filed for and obtained their API GF-5 License, can display the API starburst signifying their oil as API licensed and certified. GF-5 specified motor oils will hit the marketplace after years in development. Anticipating the introduction of the Model Year 2011 cars, the actual API first license date is expected for sometime in 4Q 2010.

Castrol 5w-40 (Audi spec). If it's good enough for those sludging, tight tolerance engines, then it's good enough for me. Plus it's free

Have you ever ran Amsoil? Amsoil seems out perform the Alisyn on the scar test, I found that when I was researching your oil.

Without trying to get into a pissing contest. Yep, I've run it, and the Amsoil does outperform Alisyn in the scar test. What you should have noticed when researching the Alisyn are the Falex load preasures. They are typicallty 1000 lbs higher than other synthetics. What that means to you is that the sliding properties, pre metal to metal contact, are higher and keeps a thin film of oil inbetween the two metals long before you need to worry about the scars in the metal. It also allows you to run a lighter weight oil without worrying about contact also. I'd actually like to see the Falex tests from the Dominator oils if possible. I've looked, but to no avail. Maybe apagan01 has them...
