Angry Clutch help!!

Alright Guys,

So I just bought my 2003 Evo 8 a month and a half ago. I knew the clutch was going out when I bought it, but it was still such a good price that it didn't bother me. Okay here's my problem..

After i bought the car, the clutch finally completly went out 3 days later, so I took it to a shop to get a new clutch put in. I got the car with a Comp Twin Disc and it rode like ****, so I told him to just order a stock one...

Well a week later, the clutch came in, and he called and said it was tot hin, the factory sent him the wrong one and that the new one will be in in 3 days. I was pissed but what can you do.

Well a week later he calls and said he cant get the clutch pedal adjusted right, and he is unhappy with the fit, so he ordered a beefer clutch and it should be ready tuesday the latest. I was like whatever works.

So that tuesday, i was fed up so I just showed up at his shop to get my car, cause he said he would be reasdy tuesday at the lastest. So when i get there I see it out front and I am thinking awesome its actually ready. Well he comes out and says the new clutch just came in and that the one that came in last time was to small in the center (the hole in the middle). He assures me that it will be ready in 2 days, that he'll stay all night.

So THAT night i get a message saying no stock clutch will fit my flywheel or something and that I need to just buy a clutch kit and ship it to his shop. So i order an ACT stage 3 clutch kit. Now he is saying i need a new flywheel for my clutch.

My question...1. Why the hell do i need a new fly wheel? If its after market and wont fit a sotck clutch, why the HELL wouldnt it fit the aftermarket one? 2. I was going to pay him 2140 fot the clutch and labor and tax, sense none of the clutches work, he is just charging me 1270 for labor... Im in NJ so every expensive, but am I getting ripped???

I JUST WANT MY CAR BACKKKKK... LOL

thanks everyone!

That is alot to pay for labor on a clutch job. I know that Ivey's shop charges about 550 for labor to do a clutch. And Ivey is in NJ as well.

the twin disc comes with a flywheel so if you had the comp twin disk in the car if going to a regular clutch you would need a flywheel

Whats TTP lol...I mean he was charging me 800 for a stock clutch, and the ACT stage 3 kit cost me 500...so why go stock if its more expensive? Either way i have to buy a new fly wheel...

BUT what are the chances that this ACT clutch will fit on the Comp fly wheel??

It would make the best financial sense to get our ACT HDTTP clutch unit with OEM recon flywheel.

This combo will shift great and handle up to 700whp while shifting much like stock.
