Evo being my first turbo car, scared the hell out of me when I heard the loud pop when a clamp let go the first time. I never go anywhere anymore without a 1/4" drive, extension and the deepwell sockets to fit my clamps. Though now that I'm prepaired I haven't had a problem in 5 months.

Whoa that sucks, this is one of the reasons we build our piping with stainless steel. You can tighten down the t-bolt as tight as possible and it won't blow off. The clamp is going to break before the piping will bend. Glad to see it's only minor damage and nothing serious!

Picked her up in June!
Traded in my 09 Lancer GTS for it - sooooooooo much better!
so embarrassing, happened to me the other week and could not figure out what the hell was going on, limped 7 miles home with no boost. Thanks Cisco at Strictly Modified at Schaumburg for being patient with an idiot like me and not taking advantage.

maybe its just me or my perfect installation lol. I dont have tbolt clamp personally. i have a box full of tbolt clamps and worked like crap for me i used regular clamps tighten and no undertray and never blew off a lower intercooler pipe ever. I have blown the upper intercooler pipe then i changed out all the couplers/hoses problem solved. maybe a improper install at the time for you?

Thanks!
Michael
