Decking the head

Ok im rebuilding my motor and im having the block decked, my question is should i have the head decked as well and if so can i just pull the valves out when they do this and put them right back in when i get it back, to save myself some money so they dont charge me for it? thanks.

Everytime an aluminum head is pulled from its sealing surface it should be resurfaced.

Just remember you can make it up with a thicker head gasket, but if it's too much to compensate for it will affect your cam timing. The more you remove, the more it affects the timing.
