no sound out of my stereo???
hey all, I have an 02 Lancer OZ and recently I started loosing sound out of my stereo intermitently. I thought it was my JVC deck so I took it out and put my factory deck back in and it still does the same thing (I used a wiring conversion plug when I put in the JVC so no cut/spliced wires to possibly cause the problem). When I hit a bump sound stops....hit another bump and it comes back on
. When it's off I still have all the controls of the radio...I can switch from FM to CD, change tracks/stations, etc...just no sound from any of the 4 speakers. It's a factory system (except for the JVC deck) so I'm wondering if there is a factory amp in this car that could have a loose connection or going bad? I've looked under the seats but don't see anything. Anyone know where the factory amp is if there is one or any other ideas on what I could check? Thanks in advance

Well sometimes the car does come with a factory amp, but i don't think yours came with one unless you know for sure the place you got it had one put in. It could be because the speakers wires are coming loose...or are loose because of something and its losing connection. Try opening up your trunk and look at the wire connections. It could be cause your car is a 02 and so is mine and needs to be replaced. I've only replaced my back 2 speakers my door panel speakers are running strong.
I would tend to agree with you if it were 1 maybe 2 speakers going out but every speaker goes out at the same time. The chances that I could have loose connections on all speakers that come loose and back on all at the same time several times is very rare...that's why I figured they all had to go to a hub point...like an amp...and then go to the speakers and that hub or amp could be bad??? I'm tempted to just run new speaker wire to all the speakers or try to back track it from one of the fronts and see where the wires go...if they go right to the deck or somewhere else
