Decked engine block

Hi

Is there a generel rule how many times you can deck the block on a evo engine? And how do I know if mine has been decked of the previous owner? Can I in anyway measure how much there's taken off?

I've got my block decked, but I'm not satisfied with the result so I want to get it redone.. Thats why I ask, plus I'm relativly new to piston engines as I've has been driving rotary before..

How many get their engine decked before a complete build?

Thanks

Normally decking the block yields a very little removal maybe a couple of thousandths. So whats wrong with the deck job you just got, kinda tough to be dissatisfied with a cleanup on a block. You ought to be able to get multiple passes on a single block before considering getting rid of the block.
