I supposed it might wear the clutch a tiny bit more than usual, but probably not any more than making the jump from 2nd to 4th.

 

Think about it. If the clutch is fine with every other shift but 3rd is always F'd, do you think it's the clutch or synchro?

Just found out the 2nd shift leadman at work use to own a transmission shop... He said that if it's only one gear that grinds, tis most likely messed up synchro. Also said that if it's ur clutch, it would be hard to put into any gear & that reverse usually gets bad
first.

So... He advised to change
tranny fluid 1st to see how it runs w/new
****t. And after that, if still grinding, bring it into a reputable shop... Anyone second that motion??????
