Sence day one I got the car it had the transfer case death whine, or atleast I think it was that, however other then the whine there were no big problems with the car, the car has 49000 miles, and according to recipts the original owner had " transmission rebuilt with different gears and 4 puck clutch, rebuilt rear diff, and new lsd transfer case." installed under 5k miles ago. So I just figured it couldn't be the death whine considering all of that stuff was recently replace, I just figured it was maby some heavy duty racing transfercase/gears in the tranny.
So the other day I realized a huge leak comming from the transmission area under the car, I had it towed to a local transmission shop, and they claimed all the fluid in the transfer case leaked out and got into the transmission overflowing the transmission fluid and that was the reason I had the leak, they also claimed that the whiny noise was due to the bearings on the transfer case, now I think there full of complete bull****.

I think the whine in comming from rack and pinion in the transfercase, meaning I need a rebuild or a new transfer case.

My main concerns is I dont have alot of money right now because I just payed off both my credit cards, and I dont wana spend money on the wrong parts,

Also Can I buy a evo 9 transfer case and bolt it up as long as its a 5 speed? and I see all this stuff about ACD would I need ACD?

Its for a 2003 Evo

 

You can not put an ACD on your evo because you would need an ECU for acd, and a pump. Turning an non ACD evo to an ACD evo is not worth it and will cost a lot of money.

If you were to get another transfer case, just a non ACD tc with LSD in it.

As for fluid leaking into the transmission, I'm not even sure if thats possible. Anyone care to chime in?....
