I have an o2 housing rom ebay and the port for the wastegate came a little small..

I went ahead and opened it up a little . but is this going to be enough not to cause problems???

I cant open the wastegate portion wider but i can go longer..

Will this do or will i need to buy a new one from a reputeable vender?

 

The ebay o2 housing makes a lot of power because of the small hole. The car boost creeps up top, making more boost. The more you open it up, the less it will boost creep, and basically, the less power the car will make.

Sounds backwards, but it is true.

 

well im going to be running over 30psi on my red .. but the thing im tying to prevent is the boost creeping up incase my failsafe goes off.. Im trying to make sure it wont creep past the amount im trying to run.

 

I have the SSautochrome O2 houshing. The wg port was smaller than I wanted which would cause the boost creep (which you do not want). You want the boost curve to be as smooth as possible. Enlarge the wg port hole, will make the boost easier to control.

 

i just enlarged it .. will the amount in the pics be good enough?

 

IIRC people said they ported the wg hole until they were able to fit a golf ball through it.

 

It looks good...My Helix 02 has about the same size hole and I have no boost creep issues.

 

There are 2 styles of Ebay housing. The good MR/SSAC style and the garbage creeping small WG hole style. This is a way I have learned to tell the difference from he two since I have both. If you look a few inches below the O2 bung and see a weld going across, this is the small wg one. If the are no welds in the same spot and its just a smooth transition this is the MR/SSAC style. This is the one you want.
