Question on Boost Leak Test

So i just installed the Injen intake with the upper and lower ic piping, and i'm not sure if the new noise my evo makes is a big boost leak or if its the way the new intake is supposed to sound? Im tapering from 22 psi clear down to 14 psi. So i assume i have a pretty good leak somewhere, i already replaced all my hose clamps with t-bolt clamps and the taper isnt as bad. So my question is....can i just hook up the leak tester to the intake where the filter would normally sit or do i have to put the tester on the turbo inlet? Obviously i would rather just hook it up to the intake as that would save a lot of time and hassle.

I've always connected them to the turbo directly when doing a leak test

+1 for hooking it to the turbo. It won't take that much extra time.
