What's the best FMIC??

Hi guys,

I really need help deciding on a FMIC kit.
Basically I want to run either FP Green or BBK Full, with the other normal bolt ons..

I want a FMIC kit that will fit with a Shearer O2 Dump I want to purchase (i.e. LICP clearance). And also don't really want to cut and modify too much (eg. front bar, splash tray, crash beam etc.)

Also does anyone know how the HKS Type R FMIC kit compares to the US kits (eg. Bushur, ETS, CBRD etc.)??

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Is it for road racing or drag racing?

Just make sure you select the right boxes from the drop down menus or you might not get what you want!

Stick with CBRD or Buschur.

one of the most over asked questions on this forum!

If you want you can research the Intercooler test that Buschur did

I believe that Buschur, AMS and ETS were the top 3 if I am not mistaken, its been awhile since I looked at that thread

AMS/ Buschur, you can simply not go wrong

ETS - I don't have any experience with them but I have some friends that have there parts and have no problems.

Your going to get nothing but the answers from people who have the product stating its the best.

Good luck to ya....

Not always true.

I have buschurs race.

Had i known CBRD had the same fmic - with better designed endtanks that did not require cutting - I would have a CBRD kit.

I simply wanted the garrett core.

Touche'

But please tell me that 80-90% of the time, those are the answers that are given...

I have the AMS but my whole car is AMS, the new redesign with the cast endtanks is pretty hot.

nisei's "small" street core, which is now discontinued for their larger competition one, outperformed the regular AMS and old BR delux by 40-50 degrees. Their competition core is massive and still retains the crash beam with no cutting or spacers needed. Only 600 shipped brand new for the comp core.

I would likely use BR's piping - However the FMIC its self would be CBRD.

I agree! Too many people ask questions when the answers re everywhere!!! Do some research. I gurantee you already know who some of the big names are. Go on there websites or search on here and read about them. Then decide which is best for you.

Agreed. You have to do some research, find your price point, and make your decision thereafter. Obviously none of the big name FMICs are worse than stock (hell, I've heard the E-bay FMICs do better than stock), so you can't really go wrong with any of them.

Good luck.

theres a thread on here with 5" an 6" thick intercoolers if you have $$$$ to spend. My opinion is its the same material so why not ebay? Its the size thats really gonna make the differnce, not the brand.
