IX Block Carnage
ER - this failure wasn't tune related, there is no sign of detonation on the head or broken piston.
Mobil1 religiously changed
^I knew Mobil1 sucks! J/k, just playing the role of zealot.
Sorry to hear about the mileage...maybe I'll look into that 4g64 sooner than later. cij, when talking about a stroker with Aaron from ER he recommended the 4g64 to me. I'm thinking of going with the 2.2L as I don't really see chasing the dragon of über-high hp/low ET cars.
This is my DD so going with something that will provide more tq but still rev similar to stock is what I'm looking for.

Yahu,
I'm also looking at doing a 4G64 block right now. This thread scares my Transfer case more than my block!
I can get brand new 4G64 Blocks with 100mm cranks for $1050.00 I'm still up in the air with what stroke/rev's I want to pursue. More noodling required.

OT - I assume you got your turbo, and you're at ~540whp?! Did you just stick with the Red? Was that on C-16 again? dayum!!
rock the stock IX
convert my old fp3052 over to an .82 t3 exhaust housing
use the ATP gt30 hotside on my fp3052 (I have a used one I picked up on my workbench)
have fp do a red conversion on my IX core.
decisions decisions

^nice! That is what I'm rocking, and plan to be running on an eventual stroker. Then I might jump to a hta35, or whatever the new hawtness is at the time.
*edit - I was thinking about this earlier and was wondering if the issue with the piston cast would be considered a "flaw" when running in an "out of spec" scenario. I'd hate to call it a feature, though.
