Hks bov

I'm not completely sure, but I think my SSQ just went bad on me...again.

First time the diaphragm went bad and would leak and push open with anything past 14psi. For a temporary fix I turned it backwards till i could afford a new one. I'm currently at 24 psi and now everytime it should blow off it's completely quiet and when it does blow off at above 10psi it sounds like a chicken . It literally sounds like it's making a "bagock" sound. First time it scared me, 2nd time i did it just to make sure what I heard was right..made me lol at that time. I barely would go into boostand i'd hear nothing.

I quit driving it for a few days...well tonight this guuy wanted to do a roll (all done on a closed course in mexico) as soon as I started to brake boost it started to buck and I decided to just let off and go home.
I'm pretty sure it's the HKS but just to make sure i'm asking you guys to make sure it's not something worse...

thanks ahead.

This is why I'm not a fan of aftermarket bov's. You probably don't want to hear this but put on a oem metal 9 BOV. I'm boosting 23-24 psi with it and have no problems, I wouldn't waste anymore money with that HKS valve.

I know, that's what I was planning on doing. The car just came with that HKS.

Is it the BOV though, not something else?

You can test it my reving the engine by turning the throttlebody under the hood and put your hand in front of the bov outlet. it should blow off even with no boost. also you can hook up a boost leak tester and pressurize the piping turbo and intake manifold then pull the bov vacuum line off this tests it under boost. it should really move some air on this one. I have tested my hks ssq up to 45psi this way and it was holding fine and worked as it should.

give this a try.
