P0401 CEL after missed shift/super high rev

whats up guys,

Last night, I punched the car 3rd til i reached around 7,900 and attemped to shift to 4th, but the car jerked like if i shifted to 2nd instead of 4th and therefore revved past 8,500-9 but i quickly put it into neutral. i shifted straight down to 4th like i always do but i dont know why it went into gear and revved like that.

Anyway, about a minute later while cruising my service engine soon light came on. scanned it today and the code was P0401 for insufficient EGR flow detected. My question is did this code throw as a result to that crazy high rev? My car feels fine and in tact with no unusual sounds or smells. I hope nothing happened but its eating my mind. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I just installed a fuel pump yesterday and got retuned for it.

*I've searched already but everyone i found that threw this code didnt seem to have the same prior situation (high rev) , and everyone is saying its the hose by the throttle body, and ill check that as soon as i get a chance to get out to my car

Check your Egr valve bro . Just make sure it is still connected . It will be somewhere on the intake manifold . Check to make sure the vacuum line is still plugged .

It is under thr throttle body .

Yes, check your EGR vacuum line. I've popped that damn line off so many times hitting peak boost. This is why I bought a pack of zip ties and tied every vacuum line.

well my boost hasnt changed before or after the light, 22 psi before the light, and 22 psi the last time i drove it today about an hr ago. i looked all over the engine bay and even under the car (my undertray is partially gone) and cannot find hose unhooked except for the coolant hose on the passenger side of the bottle (weird) im sure that isnt the egr hose

Well the hose is not so easy to find if you are just looking into the bay , it will be under the throttle body , on the intake mani facing the firewall .

Looks like this

A hose may have also popped off the solenoid on the backside of the intake manifold... just follow the hoses from the EGR valve and you can feel for them...
