Hypertune Manifold

Hey all!

Im currently looking at picking up a second hand Hypertune intake manifold and fuel rail for my engine build (see my build thread in my sig)..

The problem is, it doesnt come with a throttle body.

So what are my options? Can I ONLY use a hypertune throttle?
What other throttles can I use??

Regards.
Alex

Hypertune has garbage customer service. Ted B. has had a hell of a time with them.

hopefully he will chime in.

^ True, but Im getting this second hand (ie not from hypertune). So I can repair any damage to the manifold...

And I was wondering what throttles work with the manifold? Do I HAVE to use thier throttle, or will another throttle fit? (I'd prefer that I didnt have to use thiers from Ted B's Experence.)

Dont get me wrong its a very nice piece. I even wanted one until i read the experience Ted B. had, that killed it for me.

Based on what i have read from Ted's thread, he's using their throttle body and has been waiting for parts to finish his build for the longest. Now hypertune are unresponsive.

I dont know what throttle bodies fit this manifold, (IMO) if the stock style or Bomba throttle body can work go that route.

good luck!

Yeah based off of the experience Ted.B has had with their throttle bodies that were never supposed to leak and Hypertunes customers service, i will never buy one of their products. You would think that you'd get better customer service for the price you pay for their stuff. I'd recommend going another route. There are better options out there that perform just as good.

If i recall correctly, you can use any 5.0 style TB.

The only reason Im considering going a hypertune manifold, is because it is for a good price.. (and they seem to perform REALLY well).

In regards to a TB, what is a 5.0 style TB?

Considering you live in Australia you may have better luck getting hypertune to respond. The 5.0 reference I'm pretty sure is to a mustang style throttle body.

Yes the 5.0 style is the Mustang style throttle body.

I've personally never even heard of them but seeing as we live in different countries that could well be a popular manifold over there. Over here I'd probably use Driven Innovations manifold its been on a number of well documented cars posting great times.

I like the look of that one but i havent heard of many people using it yet. In theory it should make more bottom end power than the hypertune with those very long runners.
