I had to take my radiator out a few weeks ago to do my o2 housing but now that it's back in, my heater doesn't work. I searched and alot of the replies are to burp the radiator. I went ahead and let the car idle with full heat on full blast, no ac, and no recerc on while the cap was off. However, I'm still not getting heat coming out of my vents and my car is not overheating. Any suggestions?

 

try squeezing the upper and lower radiator hoses to get all the air bubbles out. Do this with the car off and and radiator cap off.

It most likely due to the fact that you forgot to plug something back in. Check all your connections.

YOu can possibly have a bad thermostat but that would cause it to overheat.

Does the heater not blast out heat or is just doesn't work at all????

 

I agree, make sure all the air is out of the system, should be fine, make sure you filled it full plus the overflow also, START SIMPLE THEN GET MORE WORRIED

 

Make sure the Flapper that controls the flow to the heater core is working..

 

9.Fill radiator with correct coolant.
10.Reinstall the radiator cap.
11.Start the engine and let it warm up until the thermostat
opens.
12.Repeatedly revving the engine up to 3,000 r/min several
times, then stop the engine.
13.Remove the radiator cap after the engine has become cold,
and pour in coolant up to the brim. Reinstall the cap.
CAUTION
Do not overfill the reserve tank.
14.Add coolant to the reserve tank between the "FULL" and
"LOW" mark if necessary.

 

^+1, you have to rev the engine a little but to get the water pump spinning fast enough to burp out the water.

 

Does your temp gauge come up to temp or sit at cold???

It could be a fluke that your thermostat went out.

 

Let the car warm up to operating temps. Then place your hand on the top then the bottom heater core hoses on the firewall. Is one hot and the other cold?

 

Make sure you have enough coolant in the car.

FYI, I changed radiator on my wifes car Integra and to get tha air out of the sistem all I had to do is fill it up then without closing cap(stick funel into radiator) run the engine on idle till it heats up then add more coolant as it will drop when its hot. My friend is a mechanic at some car shop and thats what he does to bleed air , but in your case you had thermostat problem...
just fyi. don't be afraid to run engine without cap. Dangeres when you want to open cap when its hot, thats when you DON'T want to open it.
