Check the thread I linked to earlier, the GSC S2's are great cams for stock turbo cars. Red, GT30, GT35 and larger would probably gain more from larger cams like the Kelfords and Cosworth M2's.

Keep in mind that, like scheides said, on the AMS test they used a ported head. A few gurus on this site have said that over 10.5mm of lift will be wasted with an unported head. That's why the HKS series cams performed so well with a completely stock head, at least on an Evo 8.

I ran my kelfords on my unported head and they made a difference. Still worth upgrading.

I mentioned them before and think its worth mentioning again, I went with the GSC Beehive springs that use the stock retainers. I don't think there is a better bang/buck out there, esp if you are on stock bottom-end and don't plan to rev over 8500-ish.

$220 www price, I'm sure they can be had for a bit less than that if you ask nice
All testing was done at 22psi, pretty realistic for most of us, not for that setup though. You are correct in the fact that it was a ported head and AMS VSR manifold though.

Not on hand i dont no, they are lopie cams, driveability is not bad at all.

I went from hks 272s to gsc s2's (original style), and while it shifted my powerband to the right some, I didn't pick up hardly any peak power.

I know it's not a popular choice but I went from HKS 272's to Comp 280's and got a substantial seat of the pants increase and over 60WHP gain in Evoscan after some AF changes. No real dyno numbers yet, but I'm very happy and they were reasonably priced.

Excellent information, I will be going with the Kelfords on a stock head until I rebuild my motor and the cams will shine even moreat that point. Thanks

You will need to upgrade your springs and retainers as RockmanX stated. Also I recommend you read the AMS cam shootout for the best cam for your application and driving style/rev range. Check it out here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-cam-test.html

Kelford will give more power then cosworth M2's.
