I have an Evo 5, and in 3rd gear and up, if i floor the gas pedal, at around 5 rpm, the car just jolts and practically just stops. Then it takes off again. It its like i get hit or something, feels like the engine just stops. It jolts me almost into the steering wheel. It only does it in 3rd through 5th. Never in first or second. And, if i am in 3rd or up and i lay on the gas pedal gradually, it doesn't do it and if it does, its very light. Is it bad spark plug or vacuum leak? Please help. Let me know if you need more info. Claudius, my waste gate is very rusted actually. So is my manifold. What do I do about the wastegate"? How do I prevent rusting? Awaiting a response. Thanks.

Get a new wastegate?
Also the fuel used could be a problem.
Always use high octane fuel to prevent fuel cuts

 

Internal wastegate? My car is stock. Doesn't vacuum pressure aid in the wastegate to be opened? Is it possible I have a vacuum leak? I don't have the street version Evo 5. Its the racing version. Is it possible to do something with the stock waste gate while i get another one? And with what wastegate should i replace it with? Thanks.
