right off the bat that setup will not work, No intakes with XEDE. You need to take that off the list or rethink if you want to use the XEDE.

Not Ture, you can use Xede with an intake but you will have to have the car tuned for that intake. There are no base maps yet for intakes as far as I know.

I made 292 hp with a Xede and B&B cat back.

So you should be in the 300 rang with those mods.

Intake is not worth much if anything at all.

Shiv always says "no intakes" so he has no base maps for them, but base maps aren't "plug and chug" anyways; you should tune it regardless.

A few notes on your mod list; coat the manifold with Jet Hot or equivalent (turbo cars don't have a header) and get a good set of IC piping instead of silicon hoses. Cams and/or gears will add power as well.

LOL, Come on big Al is the one stop shop, once his dynoflash blows your car up he can represent you when you go to court to sue them for the repair. Al is smarter then we think he makes money on both sides

Shiv - we know very very well about the MAF signal fluxuations and misreadings from the cheap aftermarket air filters

We have seen the results on the dyno

Basically - we had two choices - either we could refuse to tune cars with those air filters - which are very popular

OR - we could do our best to work with what the customer provided - and thats what we have done

Using the superior reflash technology and tuning know how of dyno flash we have been able to very sucessfully tune cars even with the most stuborn air filters

Frankly - our initial tests with the stock evos showed NO gains from air filters what so ever - even removing the air filter made no power

the effect that people see with the air filters is from hearing more noise and from the maf signal getting thown off causing the cars to run lean

we have seen otherwise stock cars running dangerously lean and detonating like crazy with air filters

if I had a mildly modified or stock evo I would run the stock filter box and bov

The fact is that the most popular modification for evos seems to be air intakes and bov's - lucikly we have been able to tune around the shortcommings

Al,

Since you agree that intakes can cause MAF sensor misreadings, how do you account for such misreadings at anything other than the full throttle/full boost condition you dyno tune with? I wasn't aware the Dynojet, or any inertial dyno, was capable of supporting the steady-state load/rpm mapping required to compensate for such transient sensor errors. One doesn't always drive at full throttle, right?

Also, keep in mind that I do not refuse to dyno cars with intakes. I simply suggest that those running aftermarket intakes don't rely on the baseline XEDE maps to provide suitable fuel/spark mapping. Custom tuning is necessary when aftermarket intakes are installed.

Cheers,
shiv
