Thank you sir, it should be fun! Cant wait to see the torque curve

Really sorry to hear about this, did you have it on the dyno before it let go? Awesome carnage pics but sorry to see them at the same time. Ultimately the 2.4 will be a good move, the extra torque down low for average DD is really attractive.

Keep the pics coming!
Yea its not cold yet, but I do think we are going to get a lot of snow. I did not get to do any dyno pulls before this happened it would have been great to see the difference for sure.

Damn 9000 rpm on a 2.4, thats awesome. no issues? Also do you feel the 1400HD are really necessary for 600whp? I only ask because im in the process of picking pistons for my build. I was looking at the regular wiseco's and a power range around 750whp.

I might upgrade from a Red to the Black or even a 6262, which should be fun on the 2.4 . So I may need the 1400HD's in the future.

BJ, I will be back right near Thanksgiving. We need to get together.

Kasey, I know you said you are revving the 2.4L to 9k. I assume you are using a long rod setup with stroker pistons? Can you lay out your build components and what all you are going with. Nice piston choice.

Mikey, I thought about going with the long rod set-up, but it would take 2 or 3 months to get the rods. So I just went with standard length rods to get it done quickly. All the Parts I will be using is in the first post.

Kasey, So with stock rod length and 100mm stroke you can rev to 9k? That sounds a bit out of the normal spec for 4g64s... Can you please explain why you can rev this to 9k?

I'll keep that in mind sir thank you, however I think Chris will kill me if I don't run the MAP product in this build and MAP spec 156mm rods would be a few months out lol.

We have run the FDSM over 9000 rpms a lot this past race season. I don't plan to rev it that high all the time, only when needed at the dragstrip in 4th gear trying to finish the 1/4.

I would agree that the HD's are probably overkill as we have had several 4g63's in the 700+ range on the standard Wiseco's without an issue However, they do leave you with some room to grow if you choose to...

Kasey is essentially building the same motor that we utilize in our race program (2.4l Block / 100mm Crank / ACL Race Bearings / MAP Connecting Rods / Wiseco 1400HD Pistons). I'm not the best person to comment on the theory and physics behind it, but if you're looking for some real world testing we are able to consistently rev in excess of 9000 rpms in this:
