Intake filter fitment issue

I purchase a Buschur intake from a member on here. After installing it I noticed that it was hitting the hood. I bought a 45 degree coupler to make it so the filer doesn't hit the hood, but now it is touching the ACD reservoir and sitting against the wires that are located between the ACD reservoir and the fuse box. Has anyone else had a similar problem? I am running the MAF so it makes the intake assembly pretty long.

I thought about cutting a few inches off the intake pipe but I don't really want to hack up the pipe if I can help it. I have already bent the piece of metal that holds the ACD reservoir toward the headlight to get a little more room and can probably bend it a little more. I was also thinking about trying to relocate some of the wires that the filter is sitting on.

What do you think?

Could you possibly post some pictures of what it currently looks like? I have the Buschur racing intake and mine fit with no issues...

Here are some pictures. This is with the 45 degree coupler installed. Without it the filter sits at least one inch too high.

It looks better than it did before. Is it still rubbing on the hood when closed?

I am running that same filter on my stock intake pipe. That's the Vibrant air filter.

I have not run into any issues using that filter. The top hat side of the fitler is resting right next to the ACD reservoir tank.

Maybe you should try pushing more of the piping into the silicone that connects the pipe to the maf, this should shorten the overall length.

Trust me, it is pushed into the silicone as far as it will go.

A couple of things. First of all it looks as though your coupler isnt but up against the turbo inlet as it should be. That extra 1/2 and inch can make a difference. I would ditch the extra coupler you put on there. Also the intake should sit about the upper intercooler pipe rather than under this. I would snap some photos of what mine looks like however I am away at school and my car is sleeping back at home in my garage. Good luck and I hope this helps.

^^

Thanks. I will check but I am pretty sure it is pushed against the turbo inlet as far as it will go.
