EVOs and NOS

Hey, I need some feedback from anyone who has had Nitrous systems installed in their EVO. How is your ride holding up after long term use? I'm thinking of putting a NOS system in. Is it safe? and how much?

safe for a while on stock internals....
say a couple of months...like 6
long term however....it will damage something.
i was lucky i changed my internals to forged recently and realised that the main bearing was bad.i was lucky.....would have gotten much worse from there.
best bet....get some forged pistons and rods

Agreed - if you keep it on a 35 or 50 shot and very rich you should have no problem doing it a few times a year

I was thinking of the getting a small shot system like the Sneaky Pete or the Incognito from Nitrous Express, which system would you use? I agree, I don't want to go big, my EVO is running very rich at the moment so I figure a dry kit would be perfect.

NEVER ever use a dry shot on an evo !

AND - if your going to do a wet shot - ALWAYS do the Walbro 255 lph pump upgrade first

Fuel is very impornat to using nos with no problems as i have for 3 years on turbo cars now - I run it as rich as i can before it starts poping from too much fuel - down around 9.80 to 10.00 / 1 - better to be safe than real sorry !

I will be having some new slips soon - I have been working on a new head which is going on this Sunday

Ferrea valves rule!

yup.....no dry shot.
has to be a wet system.
and fuel is very important when it come to nos.
at least get a apexi fuel controller and a air/fuel gauge .
that's what i used to increase fuel.works pretty good.
nos is fun "for a while" on stock internals.

No dry shot? Even for a small 35-40 hp system?
My EVO is running very rich right now, I think I should have enough fuel for such a small system.

I would never run nitrous because I can't install it and I couldn't fix it if it broke...If I were to run a NITROUS system, I would run the N-tercooler, not any shot into the engine. Juice is cool and all, but not worth losing my warranty over. What is it with people and nitrous? I had some dude ask me when I was gonna put NOS in my car the other day...I think people just say that when they don't know what they are talking about...Nothing towards anyone who runs nitrous, or wants to, I just think it's funny that people associate import japanese performance cars and NOS (damn the fast and the furious...)

What about injecting Nitrous through the air intake just before the turbo (small shot)?

EVIL VIII - I agree with ya on that one. People always bug me at car shows and ask me if I have "NOS." I always laugh and am like "WTF!?" "NO!" "It's just turbo-charged." Then once i had some guy run off and grab his friends telling them it had "NOS." TF&TF was a good movie, but it ruined a lot of stuff for us imports.

By the way, I don't have an EVO yet, but I drive a turbocharged Integra

On another note, what about the ZEX system where they use the intake and have a nitrous line hooked up to it and it shoots the nitrouse into the air filter? Would that be an ok idea for an EVO?
