this is the same exhaust I've had on my evo for 4 years now.

I think mine was $125 shipped back then (99 exhaust & 25 shipping). Like I said, its been on the car 4 years and probably 60k with no problems. Only difference is that I went to a JDM rear a couple years ago and had my shop weld a new MEGAN muffler on to replace the original.

Still an excellent bang of the buck mod that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

To be honest I bet that exhaust will actually make more power then my $1000 piece. I have an Injen DP back on my car (Bought it with the car) which when I DD the car for 4 years I wouldn't have traded for anything as its quiet. Real quiet.

It does bend more then the ebay piece (straight exit), has a resonator in the rear, and muffler necks down just a little. This was 10hp (Throwing a number in the air) I was happy to give up as I'm getting too old to DD a car that I can't hear myself think in.

I'd like to point one one more thing simply because it bugs me a little.....

If you put header wrap on your car you can buy stainless steel zip ties that will hold it in place.

Example:

I just picked up the tbe for $108.25 shipped. Should be here tomorrow. I'll get some pics of the install after I get a chance to install it this weekend. I'm curious to see how the downpipe is going to work out with the ACD.

you will need to hit your dp with a hammer to clear your acd and then a little on your test pipe to clear a bolt. i did this for awhile but it became too late at night so the next morning i just took it to a shop for $30 they did both of them

Add on the lack of environmental pollution control for their steel industry and little if any manufacturing standards.

Is it really that surprising they sell an exhaust for 1/10th the price? Do you really believe you can manufacture a competitive product in the USA when the only thing the average consumer cares about is price?

While I agree, we (America) needs to do something to compete. The fact is, that 10 times more expensive labor rate (producing roughly 10 times better living conditions for you and I) is pretty difficult to overcome when the majority of the expense of these parts is labor.
You do realize that many American companies are now manufacturing products in China and selling them here. I'm not talking about Harbor Frieght tools either, I'm talking high dollar exhaust systems and high dollar tools like saws and drills.....and still selling them for top dollar.

Do some research on things like where many Dewalt tools are made.....the American greed is getting out of control.

BTW - I have the ebay exhaust. It fits great and sounds better.

haha sorry man, i had a feeling it was somebody from the forums lol. Well I finally had a chance to install the exhaust today and it went pretty smooth other than a few small snags. Whoever installed the secondary o2 sensor before(I think it was mitsubishi since my car only has 14,xxx miles on it) cross threaded it in. It pulled up a few threads but I salvaged it. Other than that and hammering the downpipe which only helped a little(im gonna have my friend make some pie cuts to get it around the acd) it fit really well.

When I bought the car the seller gave me a Works Exhale AB catback exhaust that he had taken off since he was selling it. It looked like it had only been on for maybe 5000miles. Now its for sale(pm me if youre interested). Obviously with the JDM rear it didnt fit too well and I didnt want to hack up such a nice exhaust. It fit incredibly and sounded amazing but I couldn't pass up $100 for a turboback haha.

Here are some pics of the works exhaust that I took off.....

Here is the ebay exhaust pre-installation....

the welds...

Here is the hammering I did to the downpipe to get it to fit, and it still rubs(I also ended up reusing the stock downpipe donut since the one they supplied me with had a inner diameter that was too small)....

Here is the o2 sensor spacer I made from two spark non-foulers so that I dont get a check engine light...

And here is the final product all installed.....

Total install took me about 1.5 hours with test fitting and hammering and with the use of basic tools.
Final review:
It fits surprisingly well. I used two lock washers per bolt to lower the front lower tie bar so that it won't hit the downpipe but the rear tie bar was fine. It needs more denting or to be cut and welded to get the downpipe to fit better. The muffler hits the bottom part of my jdm muffler but thats an easy fix. Last thing I noticed was the exhaust hangers are a smaller diameter than stock and they fit loosely in the rubber hangers but its solid. Gaskets don't seem to leak although the hardware they supplied me with I disregarded as I had some grade 10 hardware that I used instead. Other than those little things I am very pleased with the sound and fitment.

I bought this. Be Warned. the Down pipe is a PITA to hammer down. I spent an hour alone trying to get it to fit. The second part that sux for me is the location of where they welded the spot for my O2 sensor sticks directly out into the drivetrain. If I were to flip the pipe around it would stick out toward the ground and thats just not safe. Now I have to spend X amount of dollars to get another opening welded into my piping so I can have an 02 sensor. It sounds and looks nice, but has problems.
