Yes. It is pretty hard to get the metal to bend, but it can be done.

That is pretty good looking. Keep in mind that I got the WHOLE TBE for $81 and that is only a catback.

I personally think it looks legit for something that is less than $100 bucks and brand new, the welds look pretty good. Do you have any pictures of what the tip of the exhaust look like from looking at the car from behind, Im pretty much just wondering if it is slightly tilted to the side like the (JDM) ones or if comes straight. just out of curiosity. thanks and let us know how this exhaust system performs after driving your evo for a while maybe also some dyno sheets and results, I like the set up

The question I have is, is this going to preform as well as other exhausts? Like WHP gain? I was looking into getting something like this, but would spend the money if I am going to get better performance out of name brand.

lets say a "name brand" exhaust pulls 5-10 WHP more than this ebay exhaust (not sure anyone has done a dyno comparison of ebay exhaust to the name brand ones, so im just pulling 5-10whp outa the air and i personally dont think a name brand will give ya 10whp more than the ebay exhaust).

Lets then say that name brand exhaust was $1k and this ebay one was $81, which is a difference of $909. I'm sure you could re-invest that $909 to make up the 5-10 WHP difference. You could easily find an intake ($250?), LICP ($250?) and get a quality tune ($400?) for $909 and make up the difference VERY quickly. Piping is piping and theres only soo many ways to fit an exhaust on our cars Heck, with that $909 you could probably even get some sweet stickers to add a few extra HP to the car. Even if the name brand exhaust was $500 .. you still have a $400 difference and could still afford a quality tune (even if just a mail-in) ..

My opinion is that the difference is probably pretty small and not worth the extra cash. The vendors who sell the name brand exhaust may strongly disagree, but lets be honest - its not in their interest for any of us to like the ebay exhaust, as they dont make cash off it. My car has a DC Sports TBE exhaust (which was on it from the day i bought it) .. if it still had the stock exhaust, I wouldn't think twice about buying this exhaust off ebay. Infact, I expect my ebay LICP any day now

Thanks for sharing McDougal. Great find.

I would like to add for those who are syaing that it can't compare to a name brand exhaust:

I have an HKS Hi power, and I had to modify the resonator because every time it would rain it would shift into contact with the driveshaft and cause grinding against it.

I had an XS Engineering downpipe. It hit the transfer case and lower bars.

So THEN I got a good deal on a Vishnu DP and high flow cat. Clears Tcase, but now my lower braces don't fit, it's about 1.5" too low.

McDougal goes and gets a complete TBE for $81 that fits better with less modification than all my pricey 1.5 name brand TBE attempts.

So to you, I say nonsense. the name brand stuff fits just as poorly most of the time in my experience.

BTW McDougal, I just moved to Portland, and would love to meet you and check out your car, specifically the downpipe .

I have the same exhaust system, and I bought it about 2 years ago, and let me tell you that it works great!! I've never had any problems with it. It sounds great, but I thought it was a little bit too loud for me, so I had my local muffler shop weld a resonator and I couldn't be any happier. I paid $220 back then, and I think it's well worth the money since you're getting a turbo back exhaust system.
